I am Hugh Jeffreys, a dedicated right to repair advocate with a passion for technology, filmmaking and photography.

I am best known for my YouTube videos on restoring broken phones, tablets, computers and other electronics. I also enjoy customising or modifying various devices to improve functionality or to produce stunning one of a kind products. With the power of online video I aim to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill to benefit the environment by educating people on the topic of DIY repair. My work has been featured on

It all began when I was given my first camera at the age of 5. I filmed everything I did around the house, from day to day activities to interviewing my friends. It wasn't long before I wore out my first camera and had to get another. I have come a long way since then but all these years later I still enjoy filmmaking as much as I did back then.

My passion for restoring devices all started with a fascination on how things worked, I began pulling broken devices to bits on my back veranda at the age of 8, and while I tended to lose a few screws along the way, I gained insight into out how things worked and how they were constructed.

 

In recent years outside of YouTube I spent four years restoring a vintage 1930s car with my father. And I have also completed many house renovations and repairs on just about anything I can get my hands on. I was employed part time at a local commercial radio station for 3 years, controlling live events, making weekend log adjustments and doing weather announcements. In 2020 I began studying at university for a degree in Information Technology.
